Rustic romantic getaway on California’s central coast
For either a rustic romantic getaway or a fun-filled family camping
trip, El Capitan Canyon on the coast of California just north of
Santa Barbara should be on the top of your list. El Capitan Canyon
offers all the luxury of hotel amidst the staggering beauty of nature
and wildlife. A babbling creek runs through the middle of the property
where about 108 cedar cabins and 26 safari tents nestle between the
tall trees. A comprehensive deli/market that carries everything from
wine to retail clothing is close by, and the beach is within strolling
distance. The hotel makes a point of having a car-free canyon, so
they have set up considerate shuttle services for their guests' convenience.
There's even a chauffeur service to bring you to your cabin when
you check in or when you need to bring up firewood or groceries.
El Capitan also rents out beach cruisers on a complimentary basis
if you want to explore the grounds on two wheels. Also on the activities
menu: horseback riding and carriage rides. Spa services can be performed
in your cabin for additional fees. A spacious room complete with
king size bed, electric fireplace, Jacuzzi tub for two, microwave,
refrigerator, closet space, and telephone will run from $245 to $285
depending on the season. Each room also includes a beautiful patio
and a firepit for relaxing outdoors. A bunk cabin with four bunk
beds ranges from only $135-$185 depending on the season. The only
negative comment we have about El Capitan Canyon is that it does
not motivate you in any way to return to work. Contact them for reservations

or special events, and check their website to learn more about their
Summer Concert Series.
